"Informal caregiving as a health risk"

New publication by Judith Kaschowitz

In her doctoral thesis, Judith Kaschowitz examines whether informal caregiving is associated with negative health consequences based on data of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) and the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA). The main research question is: How do potential health outcomes of caregiving differ by  household, and country context as well as country of origin? The results indicate need for politicy action. Welfare states should support informal caregivers so that they can stay in good health whilst they give care to someone else.
