On today's World Education Day, we would like to focus on the importance of lifelong learning - especially in a changing world of work.

We would like to draw your attention to two exciting contributions by Birgit Zeyer-Gliozzo:

12th GEBF Conference (Mannheim, 27.01. - 30.01.2025):

- At the GEBF, results from a study by Marco Seegers and Birgit Zeyer-Gliozzo will be presented, which shows that the use of networked digital technologies in the workplace favours participation in informal rather than non-formal continuing education. Task complexity influences these relationships, but only in the sample analysed (title of the presentation: Evolving Work, Evolving Skills: How the Use of Digital Technologies Requires Different Forms of Further Training Depending on Task Complexity)

More information here.

Gender Equality Forum 2025 (Berlin, February 2025):

- The results of her dissertation will be presented at the Gender Equality Forum. These show that although further training tends to bring benefits (job change, wages, security; with differences depending on the form of further training) for employees with a high risk of automation, they are less likely to attend further training - especially if companies are involved in financing it (title of the presentation: Continuing education in the age of technological transformation: participation and returns of employees with a high automation risk)

This research sheds light on how education and training can be used to secure employment opportunities in times of technological change. An important contribution to a changing world of work!
