Homeownership and the perception of material security in old age
In this article, Claudius Garten, together with PD Dr. Michał Myck and Monika Oczkowska, analyses the influence of homeownership on perceived material risks in old age using data from the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) from 15 European countries. The results show that the perceived material risks are lower for homeowners than for tenants and that there are also differences between cities and more rural regions.
