A warm welcome to Dortmund, Giorgio Di Gessa!

We are delighted to welcome Giorgio Di Gessa from University College London (UCL) to TU Dortmund University. Giorgio Di Gessa has been awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Prize by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which is presented to internationally recognised researchers.
During his research visit, he is working closely with Martina Brandt and her team at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
What is he looking into? His research focuses on the social factors associated with healthy ageing. Of particular interest is his investigation into how caregiving responsibilities, grandparenthood and employment affect health in later life, and the role that social inequality plays in this.
We wish him a successful stay and an inspiring time within the Humboldt Network!
