New special issue in the KZfSS

Under the title "Sociology of Age and Ageing: Theoretical and Empirical Challenges (Re-)Visited", the issue brings together articles that show that age is not a marginal topic, but central to understanding modern societies.
What the issue offers: Introduced by the editorial by Wanka & Brandt, the authors of the volume address the question of how age can be more strongly integrated into the sociological mainstream.
Theory update: The articles in the issue use classic and new theories - for example from Marx, Bourdieu or care ethics - to put age(ing) into a new perspective.
Empirical insights: New studies show intersectional links: How does age intertwine with gender, class and "race"?
The special issue thus positions age as a "litmus test" for the quality of sociological social analysis.
The print version is currently being finalized, but all articles are already available "Online First". Read the editorial now: https://doi.org/10.1007/s11577-025-01036-7
