As part of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth's (BMFSFJ) series of events on the Federal Government's Ninth Ageing Report, a symposium will be held in Berlin on July 9, 2025.

Topic of the event:
Participation opportunities and experiences of discrimination of older people with a history of migration - findings and impulses from the Ninth Ageing Report

The conference offers the opportunity to present key findings and recommendations for action from the Ninth Ageing Report. The following questions, among others, will be explored in specialist presentations and discussion rounds:

  • What role does migration play in social, cultural and political participation in old age?
  • What experiences of discrimination do older people with a history of migration have?
  • What political and practical approaches can be derived from this?

An exchange between representatives from politics, science, elderly care, nursing care and migrant women's organizations offers space for further impulses and networking.
