Gender, mobilities and migration during and post COVID-19 pandemic - vulnerability, resilience and renewal
Project description
The GEN-MIGRA research project examines the realities of migrant women and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic in four countries: Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Poland. An international team of researchers from TU Dortmund University, the University of Strathclyde, UNICAMP and Jagiellonian University are working together on the project, which is funded by the Trans-Atlantic Platform for Humanities and Social Sciences and financed in Germany by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The 30-month project will run from July 2022 to December 2024.
The aim of the project is to examine the experiences of migrant women during the pandemic. The focus is on both the social risks posed by the pandemic and the protective factors that helped women to overcome these challenges. In each of the four countries, data was collected from interviews with experts, the women themselves and their family members.
