The study by Henrik Laumert, Miriam Grates, and Martina Brandt, published in *Telematics and Informatics Reports*, shows that people with limitations in activities of daily living (ADL) are more willing to provide usage data for adaptive features of household appliances.
The findings highlight the potential of personalized support in everyday life while also raising important ethical questions regarding data protection and privacy.
The publication was produced as part of the interdisciplinary PLUG-IN project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our partners at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences, QuinScape GmbH, and acs plus GmbH for their excellent collaboration on this project!
