Workshop on (Early) Retirement and Social Inequality

On behalf of the project team, Tillman Claus (Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg) presented recent research on socioeconomic differences in the effective retirement age. Carolin Kunz (Technical University of Dortmund) presented findings on latent classes of life situations prior to retirement and their associations with health outcomes.
We were delighted to hear exciting presentations by Martin Brussig (University of Duisburg-Essen), Inken Fischer (Federal Institute for Population Research), Dr. Nina Garthe (University of Wuppertal), Elke Ahlers (Institute for Economic and Social Research (WSI) at the Hans Böckler Foundation), Arthur Kaboth (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA)), Laura Lükemann (University of Bielefeld), Laura Romeu (German Center for Aging Issues), and Ruth Schüler (German Economic Institute).
The workshop provided an opportunity for a stimulating professional exchange on the determinants and consequences of retirement, as well as social inequalities in the context of a rising statutory retirement age.
Many thanks to all the speakers and participants for their fascinating contributions and lively discussions!
